Meeting Our Neighbors Where They Are
Coordinated Street Outreach
Friends & Neighbors runs the only comprehensive street outreach program in York County.
Our team members go directly to the places where people are living: under bridges, in encampments, in cars, in the woods.
They bring survival essentials like food, water, and weather gear. They check on safety and health.
And they come back. Again and again.
Humanity in Action
This isn’t a one-time wellness check.
This isn’t a move-them-along initiative.
Our outreach workers return to these same neighbors week after week, month after month, building the kind of trust that eventually leads to stable housing.
When someone is ready to take a next step toward shelter, treatment, or housing, our outreach team member is already in their corner to help them get resources and support.
The First Step
Street outreach is the front door to everything F&N does. It’s how we find the people the system has missed, and how we stay connected to people who aren’t yet ready to walk through any other door.
If you have unhoused neighbor(s) you’d like us to reach out to and check on, please call our Coordinated Street Outreach Hotline at 717-699-8445.
